rubaiyat
when i first read the rubaiyat of omar khayyam, i remember not understanding much, but i loved the poetry and the play on words. of course it was only a translation, how fantastic would it be to read it in farsi? robert w. fitzgerald's rendering of the original into english is, in common opinion, the best of all the translations available. read it and reread it, for every time youi read the quatrains, you will see a little more meaning than you did the last time. posted by ubaid - Monday, March 17, 2003 at 8:31 PM - 0 comments - post anonymously
